It is important to note that one of the things America prides itself on it the separation between church and state.

I went to a small Catholic middle school and I remember disagreeing with these views on same sex marriage and homosexuality. I also remember being confused on how people could be looked at as being immoral for being homosexual. I remember struggling with thinking that all people are wonderful and can contribute equally to the world no matter what sexual orientation they are, and then being told at school that this is not true and that it is immoral to be homosexual. Today, I have grown up to have my own values and ideals and I believe that everyone should have the choice and freedom to be who they are and be homosexual, heterosexual whatever it is they are and that is what makes this world an amazing place. If everybody were the same life would be boring. I look forward to the day when everyone in our society will be accepted for who they are no matter what sexual orientation, class, religion, race etc. they are.
